What is your topic?

Overcoming the fear of leaving my comfort zone and moving abroad to pursue my dreams.

What was your life like BEFORE you addressed this issue in your life?

I was living with a constant desire for more but was afraid to take major risks. I wanted to pursue opportunities in acting, modeling, and personal growth, but leaving the familiar environment of my home country felt overwhelming

What emotions were you feeling BEFORE you dealt with the issue?

Fear, uncertainty, self-doubt, and anxiety about the future. I worried about making the wrong decisions and whether I was capable of succeeding on my own.

How was this issue affecting your life?

It kept me playing small. I spent a lot of time thinking about possibilities without fully committing to them, just being in my imagination most of the days, which prevented me from growing as quickly as I could have

What primary strategy or practice did you implement to address the issue?

I gave myself time to reach that point of feeling as if I have literally nothing to lose. Then I started meditating daily and taking action despite the fear. I focused on personal development, setting goals, trusting my intuition, and taking one step at a time instead of trying to figure out my entire future at once! Whenever fear would come to my mind, I would focus on one positive thing that I am excited about.

Where did you hear about this strategy or practice?

I got the inspiration and strategy if you will through books about psychology, spirituality and love. Meditation and praying literally gave me the focus and faith to start the journey.

Please provide our readers with the individual strategic steps you took.

Identify the fear clearly then ask yourself what you truly want beyond the fear and take one small action toward that goal. Even if it’s a tiny step, it doesn’t matter. It will still bring you 1% closer to your goal! Then focus on progress rather than perfection and trust yourself to adapt as challenges arise. And even when challenges arrive and certainty is unavailable, continue moving forward and don’t lose faith.

How long did it take before you saw or felt changes occurring?

Within a month, I felt more happy and more sure about my decisions. My confidence on my intuition grew and I felt that I would be always protected somehow.

What challenges did you face along the way of your personal transformation?

Moving to new places, building a career without guarantees, dealing with rejection, loneliness, and uncertainty about the future, wanting to give up couple of times, but kept going anyway.

How did you address those challenges?

By letting myself feel the fear but knowing I am safe, and it’s just an emotion that will fade in a bit. Then I would bring myself into the present moment and remind me why I started this journey in the first place.

What is life like for you now?

I feel much more independent, resilient, and confident. I still face challenges, but I no longer allow fear to make decisions for me or keep me stuck.

From a broader perspective, what you have learned about yourself through this experience?

I learned that the most important thing is to be self aware. If you can observe your reactions and those negative emotions, you will know yourself in a deeper level and you will also know how to stop the fear from controlling you. Also confidence is built through action, not certainty. I also learned that growth happens when we are willing to leave familiar environments and trust ourselves, to evolve into better people.

What advice would you give others facing this challenge?

Do not wait until you feel completely ready. Most meaningful opportunities appear after you take the first step. Trust yourself more than your fears and have fun throughout the journey!

Did you have a source of support?

Yes. My mother has been my greatest source of support. Her encouragement and belief in me helped me continue moving forward during challenging periods and major life transitions. Always having her unconditional love and faith.

If others reading this would like to connect with you to ask questions, are you open to that?

Yes!
