How did you get started as a property investing mentor? What inspired you to start this business?
I benefited tremendously from the help provided to me from my own mentors, so I wanted to find a way to share all that I had learned about undergoing a lifestyle transformation through successful property investing.
How do you make money?
Property is certainly a key wealth vehicle for me, as is shares, businesses. They all work together to strategically grow my wealth, so I can leave a big legacy.
How long did it take for you to become profitable in real estate?
I made money out of property in my very first deal – within 6 months I had made about $60,000 and since then I have bought 8 other properties and most of them have done very well.
I also believe that an investment in personal development yields rewards that are simply immeasurable and compound over time.
When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?
We all have doubts and that’s why it’s so good to have a mentor.
I understand that there is always something to be learned from every experience, and as long as there is an openness toward learning there will usually be positive outcomes if we keep taking action.
How did you get your first customer?
I had several people come up to me after one of the first talks I gave on the concept of property and lifestyle transformation, and they ended up being my first clients.
What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?
Though it’s not practical for some businesses, I really believe in face-to-face conversations when it comes to subjects as personal and life-altering as the ones I discuss.
What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?
I’ve got a lot of demands on my time, and it’s always a challenge to allocate my time in a way that gets the maximum result, and to serve the maximum amount of people.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
I made it a personal goal of mine to ensure that I would never be able to tell the difference between work and recreation, so my professional efforts have all been geared to the achievement of that goal.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
There is always a moment during each talk I give when I can see audience members come to the realization that living the life they imagined is an entirely realistic goal.
What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?
I’m very much looking forward to helping many others realize the possibilities that are available to them through lifestyle transformation and property investing.
What business books have inspired you?
I love the mindset application of Rich Dad Poor Dad, although the investing strategies are not as applicable to the Australian market.
What is a recent purchase you have made that’s helped with your business?
I’ve always believed that education is the most valuable investment one can make, so I consider it incredibly helpful to my business each time I add a book to my library. As Jim Rohn says ‘poor people have big tv’s, rich people have big libraries’.
What do you hope people will gain from your masterclasses?
I hope that people will come to understand that they are in complete control over the life they lead, but they first have to seize that control if they are to truly begin living the life they wish.
