I have been a denizen of the startup ecosystem for almost a decade, gaining an immense experience in various fields and technologies. From artificial intelligence and machine learning to automation, analytics, and more, I have aligned myself with the best startups globally in the capacity of a digital marketer. How do you make money?
I typically make money by offering digital marketing services to businesses of all sizes. Establishing a credible online presence and running marketing campaigns for our clients is what Success Steps does the best.
How long did it take for you to become profitable?
Success Steps became profitable within the first 90 days of starting it. I had a strong network in the business industry when I founded my company which helped me gain early momentum. And my efforts and unparalleled service and word of mouth helped me maintain that profit streak.
When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?
No! I was very confident when I started the Success Steps and had a severe gut feeling that it would indeed work. I had relevant experience, a network, and good mentors to guide me to success. I didn’t even for once think it wouldn’t work.
How did you get your first customer?
My ex-colleague had just started his wristwatch brand and was facing a challenging situation marketing his brand in the competitive market and asked me for help. He was my first customer, and later, through word of mouth, I kept on having new customers.
What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?
I have devised a system at Success Steps that ensures education to the business community about designing marketing campaigns. I use my expertise and knowledge of digital marketing to educate our clients about how to achieve maximum bang for their buck. We conduct seminars to enlighten prospective clients on market trends and new marketing ideas. We nourish their knowledge so that they can make more out of their marketing budget.
What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?
During Covid-19, the pressure to downsize the company was real. I was forced to either bid farewell to a few of my employees or reduce the salaries of my entire team to cope with the challenging situation. Thanks to my team, with mutual consensus, we cut short the salaries by 40% for a couple of months, and as soon as the financial crisis was over, we resumed full salary.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
My strong work ethic! I never run after success. Instead, I focus on working with complete sincerity and giving my 200%. I have always experienced that my exceptional work ethic pays me off.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
Whenever I receive a compliment or positive feedback from my clients, I feel delighted. My driving force for doing business is customer satisfaction. Also, whenever I meet my set targets, I feel a great sense of achievement.
What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about
I’m very much hopeful and excited about the future of Success Steps. It’s my dream to help build brands and grow along them. My plan is not to run after new clients, but to focus on my existing clients and continue giving them remarkable services and undivided attention. My clients are the future of my business.
What business books have inspired you?
I loved reading “The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham. It played a massive role in creating an entrepreneurial mindset. I have read it multiple times, and every time, it delivered a new perspective on how to evolve wealth. I recommend that any newbie read this book at least once to broaden their vision.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Never seek perfection. Always work with utmost sincerity and give your 200% to what to commit to doing but never get intimidated by perfection. Learn along your journey, and perfection will come with time and experience. Over-analyzing isn’t a great idea regarding time management, so one must strike a balance.
Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?
Why not! I love helping businesses grow and achieve their goals, and I always welcome anyone seeking mentorship.
