What made you want to do the work you do? Please share the full story.

I wanted to be more visible on LinkedIn, and using Claude directly wasn’t producing the right results, so I decided to build something that took advantage of the calls I was already recording, and it turn the raw information into beautifully created content that mirrors my voice nicely.

How is AI changing your business? What changes are you making to adapt?

AI is enabling my business to provide incredibly intelligent and rewarding features that gives me a huge moat for uniqueness that most older competitors aren’t able to touch (or it would take them a long time to change their systems to catch up). I’m also able to learn from every demo call and conversation with my customers so I can add the features they really want in a very short period of time.

If AI is impacting your business, please tell us 3 things you expect to change in the near future.

I expect AI to force every business to become AI-native or lose to those who are moving fast. I expect talent to demand the ability to work with AI (if the company is slow to act on it) or leave for faster companies. I expect customers to demand AI features that automate the workflows and make them more intelligent by providing more feedback and coaching to improve the workflows based on usage not only from them but from others on the platform. I expect prices to go up because the value is being increased (I see many companies starting at $100 per seat per month now instead of $15-25 like previously) because those AI features make users much more efficient, which lets them do more each day, and that time savings is worth a lot to companies.

What are your greatest 3 skills and how have they helped you succeed?

1) Curiosity – it makes it so I want to constantly learn about everything I possibly can, which enables me to grow fast.

2) Know how to teach myself (usually much faster than anyone else can teach me) – knowing how to learn is a difficult skill, because you have to inherently know what you know and what you don’t know, and how to close that gap as quickly as possible, even if you literally don’t know anything about that subject when you start.

3) Willing to admit I’m wrong / need help – when you’re humble enough to know you’re wrong and/or need help to solve a problem, it means you’re more likely to grow faster because you aren’t wasting time by denying the problem exists (or by making people around you suffer because you are too egotistical and try to win fights unnecessarily).

Tell us about a time you were dead wrong about something.

I thought the covid vaccines were extremely important (and I got vaccinated), and people who were against the covid vaccines were my enemy in the moment. Eventually I came to realize that covid vaccines were poorly managed and more likely to be harmful to us.

What is the biggest challenge you face each day and how do you handle it?

What’s the best use of my time.. I have my own to do list, but then I let customer calls and demos tell me where I should actually be focusing my time.

What is a habit you try to stick to and how has it helped you?

Meditation has been a daily part of my life for the last 22 years, and it’s helped me find a sense of peace and calm deep down that has enabled me to do things I never thought possible.

What achievement are you the proudest of and why?

Moving to China by myself with no money at the age of 22, and 10 years later was fluent in Mandarin, had run several businesses in Mandarin, and generated over $15M for my businesses (in Mandarin)!

What is your favorite book and why?

Shawshank Redemption is my favorite one, but I can’t really put into words why. I’m attracted to it because a good man gets wrongfully accused and sent to prison for 40 years. While in prison, he meets a lot of different people who are in jail for different reasons, and he grows to become their friend, their mentor, their accountant, their teacher. He spends his time doing something really amazing for the prison. It’s a beautiful story with happy and sad moments.

If you do charity or volunteer work, what is it and why do you do it?

I donate every year to several organizations related to building schools in developing nations and providing heart surgeries to babies. I do this because my dad had open heart surgery as a young child and it was completely free because of donations, and if he hadn’t had the surgery he would have died. I also believe strongly in educating young people, especially when they wouldn’t otherwise have access to learn. I don’t talk about it usually because it’s something personal and not designed to get the admiration of others.
