Can you describe a pivotal moment in your career that shaped your approach to business?

Early in my career, I co-founded a startup that, unfortunately, didn’t take off as expected. That experience was humbling, but it also forced me to reevaluate how I approached business decisions. I learned the hard way that understanding your market is crucial. It’s not enough to have a great idea—you need to ensure there’s a demand for it. This experience taught me the importance of thorough market research and staying adaptable. It also reinforced my belief in the value of resilience. You can’t be afraid to pivot when things aren’t working, and that lesson has been a cornerstone of my approach ever since.

How do you balance the demands of your career with your personal life?

Balancing career and personal life is something I take very seriously, but I approach it differently than most. For me, it’s not about splitting time equally between work and family. Instead, it’s about being fully present in whatever I’m doing. When I’m at work, I’m 100% focused on the task at hand, and when I’m with my family, they have my undivided attention. This approach allows me to be effective in both areas without feeling constantly torn between them. Physical fitness also plays a huge role in maintaining this balance. My daily workouts aren’t just about staying in shape—they help me clear my mind and recharge, so I can give my best in all aspects of my life.

What role does music play in your life, and how does it influence your work?

Music is a huge part of who I am. I play several instruments—guitar, piano, banjo, drums—and I find that music provides a creative outlet that complements my work. When I’m playing or composing, it’s a form of mental relaxation that helps me process ideas and think more creatively. In many ways, music has taught me about flow and rhythm, which I apply to my work as a Business Architect. Whether I’m designing a business strategy or leading a team, I look for that same sense of harmony and coherence that I find in music.

You’re passionate about fitness. How has that passion influenced your leadership style?

Fitness, especially powerlifting and Muay Thai, has been instrumental in shaping my leadership style. The discipline required in these activities translates directly to how I lead. Fitness teaches you about pushing through discomfort, setting goals, and consistently working towards them, even when progress is slow. As a leader, I bring that same discipline to the table. I’m persistent, goal-oriented, and I don’t shy away from challenges. Moreover, physical training has taught me the importance of resilience. In business, setbacks are inevitable, but just like in the gym, you learn to push through and come out stronger on the other side.

How do you approach innovation in your role as a Business Architect?

Innovation is at the heart of what I do. In my role, I’m constantly looking for ways to align business goals with the latest technological advancements. I believe that innovation isn’t just about creating something new—it’s about improving existing processes and finding better ways to solve problems. I approach innovation with a strategic mindset, always considering the long-term impact on the business. AI, for example, is a tool I’ve been particularly excited about. It’s revolutionizing the way we approach problem-solving, and I’m constantly exploring new ways to integrate AI into business processes to optimize efficiency and drive growth.

What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting out in their career?

I would tell them to embrace failure as part of the learning process. When you’re just starting out, it’s easy to feel like every mistake is a setback, but in reality, these experiences are some of the most valuable learning opportunities you’ll ever have. Don’t be afraid to take risks and step out of your comfort zone. The challenges you face will shape you into a stronger, more resilient professional. Also, invest in building relationships and networking. The connections you make early on can open doors and provide support throughout your career.

How do you stay ahead of trends and changes in your industry?

Staying ahead of trends requires a combination of continuous learning and active engagement with industry peers. I’m a firm believer in lifelong learning, so I regularly attend conferences, participate in webinars, and read extensively on topics related to technology and business strategy. Networking also plays a key role—I make it a point to connect with other professionals in the field, share insights, and discuss emerging trends. This helps me stay informed and adaptable, ensuring that I’m always ready to incorporate new ideas and technologies into my work.

What’s your philosophy on work-life integration, especially as a father and husband?

For me, work-life integration isn’t about balance—it’s about harmony. I’ve learned that trying to compartmentalize work and personal life can create unnecessary stress. Instead, I focus on integrating the two in a way that allows me to be fully present in each moment. My family is my anchor, and I make sure that our time together is meaningful. This means prioritizing quality over quantity and ensuring that when I’m with them, they have my full attention. At the same time, my work is a significant part of who I am, and I strive to bring the same level of passion and dedication to my professional life as I do to my family life.

What drives your commitment to humanitarian work, particularly in La Gonave, Haiti?

My commitment to humanitarian work stems from a deep belief in giving back and making a positive impact on the world. The work I do in La Gonave, Haiti, is focused on infrastructure, medical, social, and educational initiatives—areas where I believe I can make a meaningful difference. This work reminds me of the bigger picture and the importance of using my skills and resources to help those in need. It’s incredibly fulfilling and keeps me grounded, reminding me of the values that are most important to me.

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment, professionally or personally?

Professionally, I’d say my greatest accomplishment is the role I’ve played in transforming businesses through strategic innovation. Seeing the tangible results of a well-executed strategy—whether it’s increased efficiency, improved profitability, or a successful market expansion—gives me a great sense of fulfillment. Personally, my greatest accomplishment is my family. Being a dedicated husband and father, while managing a demanding career, is something I’m incredibly proud of. The balance I’ve achieved in my life, where I can excel in my career without compromising my personal values, is something I cherish deeply.
