How did you get started in this business?

With my master’s in Computer application and business administration, following a career in the IT industry came naturally to me. Initially, I was the head of the automation movement in a national Indian Bank. While the work was fulfilling, I still had the zeal to do more.

Hence, I started my entrepreneurial venture and moved towards being the top leader in Seasia – an organization dedicated to offering IT solutions for several businesses. Since then, I have been working towards creating a positive environment for employees and providing exceptional IT solutions for our clients on every occasion.

How do you make money?

Seasia is a company that provides IT solutions for a range of companies. Web Development, web Design, Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and DevOps are some services that we offer our clients.

We have served a range of clients globally and helped transform their businesses, create an effective digital presence, and improve the efficiency of their operations.

We get paid to help our clients find the appropriate solutions for all their digital needs.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

Seasia is an over two decades old organization that became profitable pretty early. In 2000, we started as an offshore development center of Hewlett-Packard – State and Local Government Division. Hence, we became the leading IT services provider for several United States and Local Government entities.

So, we were profitable within the first few months of our inception.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

Well, I guess everyone has doubts about the success of any venture. In the beginning, there were tumultuous times, but I have a never say die attitude. It has helped me find solace in the most challenging times and do everything I can to overcome my circumstances.

Of course, every business has ups and downs, but my team and I have pushed through them and come to the other side stronger.

How did you get your first customer?

Well, our first customer was HP, which gave us the opportunity to build international standards of practices while serving several the United States and Local Government entities. Once we became an independent entity, our experience, along with our business development team, was able to take our profits to new heights.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

As an IT company that offers marketing solutions, we know the importance of getting your business in the digital space. Hence, Seasia has invested time in creating and maintaining a strong presence online.

We have leveraged our online presence to educate people about the potential of IT solutions and have gotten a fair amount of clients from it.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

The previous couple of years have been challenging, where companies had to make several decisions that were tough, and we were no different. Firstly, the transition to work from home was challenging, as it meant investing in several new provisions for employees. It raised security concerns for confidential information, so we made special provisions to ensure we could offer the best services even during the lockdown.

Then, the transition back to work from the office and the several changes in operations were some challenging decisions we had to make in the previous year.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

The one advantage I have that has helped me gain success is that I am a workaholic. I have faced challenges in life and I consider them phases that will pass, if I persevere. Hence, I never give up on my dreams and my team. And when giving up isn’t an option, the only thing left to do is find solutions that get you back on track.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Achieving the CMMi Level 5 certification was among the most satisfying moments in the business. Also, the fact that we can help clients find solutions every day is rewarding.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

The future of Seasia revolves around the integration of the latest technologies. The IT industry is ever-evolving. It does not stop. We don’t plan on stopping, either. So, providing advanced technology solutions is the future of our business, and I, for one, am very excited about it.

What business books have inspired you?

There are several must-read books for businessmen. The ones that have influenced me the most include “The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham and “Creativity, Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration” by Ed Catmull.
Though, I strongly believe that the best teacher you have is life.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

In retrospect, you can find many things that could be done differently. My advice to my younger self would have been to trust your gut. When you are young, more experienced people can negate your way of looking at life and dealing with specific situations. But you aren’t wrong. Neither are they. You just have different ways of handling the same situation. Be more confident.

Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?

No, I do not mentor entrepreneurs, as most of my efforts go towards teaching individuals at my organization. But if your readers want to understand how an organization works and its various aspects, you can apply for a job at Seasia. We hire interns and experienced IT professionals for a variety of roles. And if you have the right qualifications and/or experience, there is a place for you in the company.
