How did you get started in this business?

Nothing inspires me more than creating something from scratch and making people happy. So, while I was working in insurance, I wanted to find something I started that did both. So, I went on to co-found Noodle Station.
Last Look Consulting Group is my newest venture. I was inspired to start this group because sales team training helps increase meaningful personal and professional development.

How do you make money?

I have to be very strategic about how I allocate my time and resources in order for there to see a profit in business. Being involved in multiple businesses keeps me busy, happy, and excited for the future. If I happen to make some money in the process, it’s a plus.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

Luckily, we were able to turn a profit pretty quickly. We had a lot of help from my family and friends initially, which made things a bit easier. But, I would say it took us about six months to really start seeing some good results.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

I think we all doubt ourselves at some point, especially when we’re starting something new. For me, it was just a matter of putting in the hard work and staying focused. And, if things ever got tough, I would just remind myself why I started this business in the first place.

How did you get your first customer?

The first customer is always the hardest to get, but I was lucky enough to score a few big contracts right off the bat. I partnered up with a couple of local businesses and offered them a discount on their first order.
And, word of mouth is always powerful, so I made sure to provide great customer service and quality food. However, I go to events, and my network is always growing, so it’s only a matter of time before I get more customers this way.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

As I’ve said before, every day, we strive to make people happy with our food. But people love to laugh too. So, we’ve partnered with comedians to host Will Tell Jokes for Noodz. Food and laughter are a great way to market and bring joy. Stay tuned for upcoming show dates on our social media.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

The toughest decision I’ve had to make recently was where to allocate my resources. Do I spend more money on marketing, or do I hire more employees? In the end, I decided to go with marketing because it would have a larger impact in the long run. But, it was definitely a tough decision to make.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

I believe that hard work and dedication make me a successful person. As for my businesses, I believe that everyone who helped each business grow to what it is made them successful, not just me. While I had a hand in it, all of us made them what they are.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Nothing beats the feeling of seeing a customer walk in for the first time and hearing their compliments about the food. It’s really rewarding to see them enjoy our dishes, and I’m always happy to make adjustments based on their feedback. Plus, it’s great when customers become regulars, and we get to know each other on a personal level. That’s what Noodle Station is all about.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

We are really looking to expand Last Look Consulting Group and take on new clients. That is what I’m most excited about. Being able to help other people has always been what excites me the most.

What business books have inspired you?

Some of the books that have inspired me in business are The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. Both of these books help you become a better person, which enables you to do better in your business.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

My advice would be to stay focused and never give up. It’s easy to get discouraged when things aren’t going your way, but you’ll eventually see results if you keep pushing forward. And, don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. There’s no shame in admitting that you don’t know something and seeking out advice from those who do.

Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?

This is what I do! Last Look Consulting’s mission is to develop, motivate, and get results for sellers while being a mentor for their business. If anyone is looking for a mentor or needs help with their business, reaching out to us at Last Look Consulting Group would be perfect.
