Mike Hainsworth has been serving clients in the financial sector since 1995 and has a diverse background with international experience. Working as a financial consultant from Dubai to Fort Myers, Mike Hainsworth has a proven track record of managing millions of dollars of assets, minimizing losses and maximizing the transfer of wealth from his clients to their heirs.

While working as the President and CEO of his company, Hainsworth Wealth Advisory, he was catering to high net worth clients with $72 million of assets, developed tailored tax, estate, and financial plans, and built an extensive CPA, Attorney, and Client Referral Network. After selling his practice in 2015, he relocated to Dubai to further perfect his craft.

Utilizing his extensive experience, Mike Hainsworth successfully made the transition and started working for Abacus Financial Consultants in Dubai, specializing in American expat retirement planning. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from Murray State University and an MBA from the University of Alabama.

Mr. Hainsworth has also volunteered as Board and Finance Committee Member at the Faith Assembly of God in North Fort Myers and with the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation.

How did you get started in this business? What inspired you to start this business?

My brother-in-law was a top producing representative with Edward Jones. The relationship he had with his clients is what inspired me to leave the defense industry and start with Edward Jones in 1995.

How do you make money?

Mine is typically a fee-based business. We charge 1% on the assets that we manage.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

Fortunately, I was profitable within the first 90 days of starting my business in 1995.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time that you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle it?

Wow, I was indeed terrified when I started my business; there never was a time that I felt as if it would not work. I had proper training and good mentors. It had been successful for them; I simply followed their steps.

How did you get your first customer?

I knocked on their door.

What is one marketing strategy that you’re using that works well to generate new business?

We conduct very plain vanilla seminars to educate prospective clients on investing and the markets. We educate them so that they can make an informed decision. Usually, that decision is to join us.

What is the toughest decision that you’ve had to make in the last few months?

Accept my oldest daughters request for me to come to San Diego to help her with a business idea.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?


What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Helping my oldest client and her daughter with the research and placement within an assisted living facility.

What does the future hold for your business?

Continued care for my existing clients. They are the future of my business.
