Lee Janovitz began his career as an accountant at a hospital. He recognized that in order to improve his skills he needed to learn the ins and outs at each position to the best of his ability in every different opportunity possible. Lee decided to obtain his Masters in Business Administration, as well as a Certified Public Accountant License. Upon graduation he was offered a position as a Chief Financial Officer of a hospital. As a Chief Financial officer, Lee was able to utilize many of the skills he had learned from previous positions but, was also able to implement a number of cost effective systems that enabled the hospital to maximize its profit margin on a unit by unit basis. Lee realized that in order to make an impact in the healthcare industry, he needed to move over to the Insurance/reimbursement side of healthcare.
This type of Managed Care was in its infancy, and Lee was needed to develop networks of providers throughout the country and develop contracts. Lee was able to establish contracts with thousands of providers, of which many networks today still have contracts that were originally developed by Lee. As the healthcare delivery system developed, Lee realized that he wanted to build a business that could help individuals and small business’s reach their financial goals. In 2012 Lee created Lee Janovitz & Associates LLC. In the last sex years, Lee has become a top rated accountant, CPA, and financial advisor. Lee has helped a number of people out if significant tax issues, found significant cost/expense savings for a number of businesses, developed business plans, and set up a number of 501(c)(3) organizations.
How did you get started in this business? What inspired you to start this business?
I started the business with no clients in 2012, I wanted to be on my own and help those that do not have the financial skills that can not only get them out of trouble but assist people in achieving their own dreams
How do you make money?
Each area I get involved with has a certain fee attached to it. Tax Returns, Tax Resolutions, Cost analysis, as well as other project work.
How long did it take for you to become profitable?
I made money my first year ($10,000)
When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?
I am blessed with a lot of energy and I have confidence in everything I do. This does not mean I am successful all the time, but the right attitude goes a long way.
How did you get your first customer?
I walked the neighborhood and passed out flyers, and had sandwich boards on the street corner.
What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?
Networking, Networking, Networking. Everybody you meet can be a client or a referral. Be friendly have fun and do not forget to volunteer.
What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?
I can only help people if they will work with me. If a client continues to ignore me or will not follow my advice, you have to discontinue the relationship.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
Hard Work, perseverance, positive attitude, being friendly. People want to do business with people they like.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
I helped a client whose house was about to be sold via sheriffs sale, keep the house by working out a payment plan.
What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?
I believe that I am getting close to hiring people to assist me, I find that it is satisfying that you can help others make a living

Actually I find that history books help me more, you learn from others mistakes

I am just getting involved with online marketing; I cannot wait to see the impact
