Born on October 23, 1989, Joseph Porto is an American Entrepreneur, Business Tycoon, Scientist, Founder, and Mach Labs Director. During his career as a lab expert at The Physicist’s Planet, he founded Mach Labs as inspiration from Quantum Physics. The Physicist’s Planet is a company that mainly focuses on those areas of physics that can ease the life of people by the execution of advanced gadgets in the everyday lives of people.

Porto was born in Chicago, Michigan from where he completed his graduation from Excel University in 2012. Due to his interest in physics, he won various International Scientific Events, Olympiads and even successfully secured a NASA project where he worked with great scientists in Quantum Physics, which inspired him to combine Quantum Mechanics with supercomputers.

Porto was born in Chicago, Michigan, where he lived with his parents Dr. Edward Porto and Dr. Jena Porto, who are doctors serving people there. He is the eldest son, who has a brother and a sister. As a kid, he was fascinated by sci-fi movies which inspired him to work on Quantum Physics.

When Porto worked as a lab expert in The Physicist’s Planet, he came to know about the potential scaling up of qubits or quantum bits to a mini-quantum computer. He wanted to build a supercomputer that could work at light speed and store millions of more data than usual. The qubits are capable of making electron holes the solution to operational speed/coherence trade-off in building quantum computers, and with this knowledge, Porto founded Mach Labs. With this Mach Labs, he started making people aware of Quantum physics’s uses and its advanced effects in doing daily life-critical tasks.

How did you get started in this business?

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been inspired by sci-fi movies and how they help planets. I wanted to transform such sci-fi action into reality, so I started reading Quantum Physics theories and their scope that can impact people’s daily lives.
I felt there was an unmet need and that Physicists were being neglected. The creation of Mach Labs was spontaneous, and we had to face many challenges in the beginning. We were joining a brand-new market – one that has not been experimented or explored as of then. We were worried that whether we could pull this off gracefully, but by the blessings of Almighty, we did. Still, it all worked out in the end, and the rest is history.

How do you make money?

I founded Mach Labs because of my love of physics, especially Quantum Mechanics and computers. In Mach Labs, we experimented with ideas, and we did the same with qubits. One way to make a qubit is to use the ‘spin’ of an electron, which can point either up or down. To make quantum computers as fast and power-efficient as possible, we would like to operate them using only electric fields, which are applied using common electrodes. This concept led us directly to the technical field business that we know in this day and age. For the past years, we have made one of the world’s biggest supercomputers capable of exhibiting complex problems in seconds. Not only that, it can work well with AI to produce Augmented reality. To conclude, we’re just satisfying customers and making them happy.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

Since the early days of the business, we were able to make a profit. In the most recent years, however, we started investing in the wider variety of supercomputers that enable spins to talk to electric fields called the spin-orbit interaction and are traced back to Einstein’s theory of relativity, which resulted in our business reaching new heights.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

We knew there was a demand for high-quality supercomputers with the Quantum Physics concept as the world is far behind, but it was unexplored territory. Naturally, there were many doubts. As Entrepreneurs and Scientists, we still believed in the community and kept going forward. That perseverance paid off, and Mach Labs is now one of the world’s leading brands for people that is dedicated to make the lives of people easier.

How did you get your first customer?

There wasn’t any specific customer as we were trying to launch at one go. The success was overwhelming when we launched the Mach Labs 2.0 supercomputer that could perform qubits transportation no one could see before. That led us to develop other peripherals and then explore new product categories like Quantum robots, Quantum cars, Quantum devices.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

By building a community of interconnected individuals, especially youths, we generated new business ideas. People are passionate about things coming from Mach Labs as it excites them. We’ve become a well-known brand for youth and millennials because of the combination of Quantum and computers. I think it’s because we’ve always been very passionate about it, and we’ve always stuck to ideals and the quality of our products. Engaging the community is essential for our brand and we have encouraged people to share their ideas with us. Mach Labs has a significant number of followers on social media, whom we communicate with regularly to know if they have liked our product. It is a form of engaging communication, and in today’s world, it is essential to be close to your consumers. We have a group of die-hard fans who carry our very logo and sometimes even tattoo it on their bodies and queue up for new store openings overnight, rain or snow. Mach Labs has built a family-like community, one that is irreplaceable and determined to be in a futuristic development environment.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

With COVID-19 restricting many business activities, the economy has suffered a big hit financially. Even though Mach Labs was fortunate to stay operating without any restrictions, the management had to make many hard decisions on managing our business so that it can remain stable and safe with protocols from the government. In early 2020 I had to pay full wages to my employees and had to ask them to work from home to allow us to save costs and protect our employees during these challenging times.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

Passion and dedication is the secret to success. I’ve never stopped being a dreamer. Whether it is a few rounds of sci-fi movies or turning pages of Quantum Physics by various authors, it’s not just important to know your audience; you need to be part of them. We have a motto that we have lived by, “From impossible to Possible,” and it is based on it that we make every choice.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

There have been many satisfying moments with Mach Labs. Every product we launch, every time our team grows with our fans, and every happy customer we get brings us extreme satisfaction and feedback that helps us a lot. It’s hard to point out a single moment since, as a company, we’re always aiming for our subsequent success.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

Supercomputers are a multibillion-dollar industry in our current day and age, especially since youth everywhere want excitement in their lives through physics. Mach Labs represents one of the biggest companies of Quantum-related products that accompanies the customer’s hunger to stay ahead. We are focused on meeting all the expectations and needs of customers and want to keep surprising them.

What business books have inspired you?

Reading Quantum Physics of different scientists serves as one of my biggest motivations in life– it’s always interesting to read about their experiments, experiences, failures, successes, and stories.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I believe that at every point of time in life we gain experiences, so it is essential to use that experience to improve oneself in other areas or to retrospect the events. I would convey my message to youths to never be afraid to learn something new, even if it is not strictly related to your objective or domain. In most circumstances, you will notice that you are gaining knowledge and that experiences will help you in everything you do. More importantly, keep pursuing your goals, maintain focus, do hard work and smartwork and let your passion inspire you throughout your career. To be truly great in whatever you pursue, you need to be passionate and believe in the choices that you make. This will allow you to stay motivated while, at the same time, motivate others who share the same passion as you.

Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?

I want to be a mentor one day. However, I still need time to manage and keep my business going through these current circumstances caused by COVID and have to look for more opportunities for youths in this field.
