As a driven and patient entrepreneur, James Sanson continues to disrupt real estate markets with innovative solutions to improve his clients’ experiences. In 2019 he saw a gap between the large institutional buyers, property sellers, and real estate agents. At this point he dove into the tech sector developing a digital bridge to connect all parties to align them to be able to give all of them their own unique offerings. He was able to super charge his platform with nearing two decades of high unit production based around delivering five star experiences to all of his relationships he built in the real estate market.

James comes from a tech background that he left in order to get into the sales arena. His education background is in coding, business, finance, and marketing. James’ passion for coding started prior to Commodore 64 where he was programming as a kid in dos. His passion for art was occurring simultaneous with this coding.

His background has given him an organic competitive advantage entering into the tech market to create his new layer of business with his platform. The offering was to all agents as he found the general market was not offering anything like it. However, at this point he is now working on taking it in house for his expansion real estate teams exclusively. The new updated design will be seen in late February.

Mr. Sanson please that owning his own technology and the ability to continually grow it to meet all uses will give him and his real estate team a competitive advantage in the real estate marketplace.

How did you get started in this business?

I was constantly encouraged to enter into the real estate field as a real estate agent by other agents that I knew. They felt with my background and personality I would be a sure success. This then led the way to eventually getting into the tech side of the business.

How do you make money?

At this point is based on leverage and offering my current relationships more tools to use, so that they can grow their business.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

As a real estate agent, I was profitable right out of the gate. Then growing into a real estate team I was profitable immediately too as I followed Gary Keller’s Millionaire Real Estate Agent Book. As an expansion team, it took me over a year to become profitable in that sector. The Dorrmat platform now is heading toward being an exclusive tool for my agents, it will not be a direct revenue tool, but a tool that supports my agents in becoming more competitive.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

As a real estate agent my first two years I had doubt. I had left a great high salaried position to enter into a position where I constantly had to hunt for my income, so naturally, I worried until finally, I trusted it. However, I was constantly interviewing and turning down salaried jobs.

How did you get your first customer?

I did not have a large sphere database, so I called expired listings every day starting at 8 am. I pecked the phone until I got an appointment.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

As a real estate agent, it was calling expired real estate listings. Then once I was done I would go door-knocking. Then as my success grew I leveraged more and more income-producing things.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

In the last few months, the toughest decision was to bring Dorrmat exclusively in-house as a tool for my real estate team members.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

This is an easy answer. It is not my looks for sure. It is not even six sentences. It is three simple things extremely high work ethic. I only know how to work. Working is my hobby. Caring more about my clients’ experiences than they do. Then being to see through the forest and come up with winning solutions.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Selfishly it was once Keller Williams International Realty Notified me I am in the top 1% of real estate agents in the country. I had always been in the top 1% of my state and nobody had ever told me in the country before.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

We have a lot of things planned for our Dorrmat platform. We will see how it all grows. I am just excited to be putting my work history, my creativity, my work ethic, and my passion for doing great for others together finally vs just being a real estate team. Wish me success.

What business books have inspired you?

I have several books I have enjoyed, but truthfully my friend Tiru is my inspiration. He came from India and has dominated in his coding and marketing world. He has inspired me to branch out of the very comfortable role as a real estate team owner to getting into tech where my true passion was always at.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would tell myself to think even bigger because you are limiting yourself based on your personal history and not on what God has offered you.

Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?

I am willing to be a friend to the right person who has the work ethic. I cannot stand people who only talk dreams and say they need a mentor in order to do anything. That is simply a failure of work ethic.
