Chadley Hensley is a successful entrepreneur who began his career as a Federal Officer at the United States Customs and Border Protection in 2008. This is after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree from Madonna University in 2007. In 2010, Chad joined Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services, Inc. as Drawback Analyst.

Working for these organizations helped sharpen his entrepreneurial and business management skills. He co-founded the Six Brothers Beef Company in 2011 and has served as the company’s president from August 2011 to date.

Six Brothers Beef Company is Texas-based gourmet meat and seafood delivery service with a mission to revolutionize how consumers shop for their beef. With a variety of products to choose from, the company has something for every customer.

Six Brothers Beef sources high-quality meat from local farmers across the United States, ensuring they deliver only the best products to their customers. With a fleet of 17 trucks traversing the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex daily, the company provides value, quality, and convenience with delicious beef, poultry, pork, and seafood right at customers’ doorsteps.

Some of their best-selling products include Sirloin Sampler Package, Black Angus Beef “Dino” Ribs, North Texas BBQ Addicts Grill Pack, Premier Prime Grade Beef Bundle, Berkshire Pork Chops, and Holiday Gift Bundle.

Six Brothers Beef also gives back to the community from which they draw customers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they donated over  5,000 pounds of beef and chicken to families and organizations in need. They also support local farms by sourcing many of their products from local Texas ranches. Additionally, the company has donated tons of items for charitable raffles over the years.

How did you get started in this business?

Six Brothers Beef was born from the understanding that not every home in the DFW area has access to a local butcher. We started sourcing quality meats from American farmers and delivering top-quality cuts like a neighborhood butcher at competitive prices.

How do you make money?

We sell a range of poultry, pork, and beef products on our website and through our delivery trucks. Some of our best-selling products include the Black Angus Beef “Dino” Ribs and the Sirloin Sampler Package, which contains 17 quality USDA prime cuts. Many of our customers love the sampler bundle because it delivers great value for money. We also make money from selling gourmet seafood.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

Thanks to comprehensive research before getting into the meat delivery business, we were profitable within a few months of opening our doors to customers.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

Like most entrepreneurs, I had doubts about whether I was headed in the right direction. At first, I doubted if the concept would work. However, focus, determination, and believing in ourselves have seen us overcome the challenges, and here we are.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

One marketing strategy that has been instrumental to our success is having the right products for our customers. Social media and blogging have also helped enhance our brand visibility and drive new customers our way.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

The toughest moment for our business was when we had to cut down our workforce to lower operation costs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, things are picking up well, and we will soon be operating optimally again.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

We have many loyal customers across Texas due to our efficiency and reliability. Consistently delivering value for money also contributes to our success.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Nothing satisfies me more in business than when customers give us positive feedback. The great feedback we get means that we are doing things right.

It is also gratifying to give back to the community.  Besides supporting local Texas farms by sourcing products from them, we also donate various items to charitable causes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we donated about 5,000 pounds of meat to needy families and organizations.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

We are continuously researching the market to meet our customers’ evolving needs. We also look forward to expanding beyond the borders.

What business books have inspired you?

I draw inspiration from several books, but Traction by Gino Wickman has been the most impactful.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Don’t fear following your dreams and takings risks.

Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?
