What made you want to do the work you do? Please share the full story.

If I have an idea or theory I would like to test out I bring it to the team. It’s very important to include everyone in decisions like this because everyone works with different parts of the program. It’s important for me to know how major ideas or changes will impact every part of the program before doing it. Sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t.

Tell us 3 surprisingly easy and 3 surprisingly difficult things about your business.

It’s easy to be vulnerable
It’s easy to walk through some of the darkest parts of life alongside these women everyday
it’s easy to welcome everyone home

It’s difficult when people are not ready
It’s difficult to deal with abusers still being in clients lives
it’s difficult knowing I can not do it for them, all I can do is love and support them but they have to take the steps

What are the 3 things you like best about your work and why?

I like working with people that all have the same goal.
I like being able to help people
I like being a part of the solution to one of the worlds greatest problems.

What are your greatest 3 skills and how have they helped you succeed?

I would say my 3 greatest skills are:
1: Remaining calm in all situations
2: Always being open to learning
3: Always being willing to hold myself accountable
I would define success by looking at the people around me. If the people who work alongside you are successful and happy you are doing something right. Providing a safe and educational environment for people to grow in is the key.

Tell us about a time you were dead wrong about something.

I’m dead wrong about many things. I admit when I am wrong and take action to correct it.

How do you get yourself out of a funk? Please share the details.

I check my self care. If I am not doing any self care then I am not being the best I can be for those around me.

What is a habit you try to stick to and how has it helped you?

Communication with other staff and making notes daily to make sure I am achieving daily goals.

How do you celebrate your victories?

I celebrate victories by continuing the work.

What is your favorite book and why?

Favorite book, Harry Potter. Harry Potter taught me that where you come from doesn’t matter, healthy connections and bonds are necessary for survival and no matter how many times the dark lord tries to kill you, there’s always something bigger to fight for

What advice would you give to your younger self and why?

I would tell my younger self to hang on, it gets better, and your suffering has a purpose that is so great. I know it hurts but I promise you will move mountains and you are gaining the ability to help so many women.

Who has been your biggest mentor in life (personal or professional) and how have they helped you?

My biggest mentors are, my son, my fiance, all the leadership at Renaissance Ranch (The Dixon family, Justin, Damion, Dave C. Russ, Bryan, KG, Todd) My amazing sponsor, Luke, Alicia, Kim, Kayla (RIP), Danell, I could go on. I look up to everyone they have all taught me something that has been instrumental to our success.

Just for fun, what is your favorite food?

Favorite food is sushi.
