How long did it take for you to become profitable?
I have been extremely fortunate in this line of work and managed to turn a profit almost from day one. I had initially estimated that it would take about 6 months for me to break even, but was pleasantly surprised when I was able to do so much sooner than anticipated. Despite the occasional setback, I was well prepared for these challenges thanks to the groundwork we had laid ahead of time. With the help of my dedicated team, we were able to overcome these obstacles and continue moving forward with our business. Over time, I have continued to learn new things and grow as an entrepreneur, and I feel proud to say that I have been successful in this industry. Through diligence, hard work, and dedication, anyone can achieve success in business – they just need to be willing to put in the effort required. And that’s exactly what I’ve done throughout my career.
When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?
No, I had no doubts about things working out when I decided to start my own business in the tech industry. With over three decades of experience under my belt, I knew that I had what it takes to succeed in this field. Not only did I have the technical expertise and skills required to compete, but I also had a solid educational foundation that proved my ability to succeed. Furthermore, I am a firm believer in hard work and perseverance. With these tools at my disposal, there was no way that things could fail for me. So, while others may have questioned my chances at success, I had faith in myself and forged ahead with confidence and determination. And ultimately, that confidence paid off, as my business became a huge success despite all of the obstacles along the way. Whether navigating a changing market or dealing with fierce competition, I always kept my eye on the prize and worked tirelessly to achieve my goals. And that tenacity and resolve allowed me to truly thrive in this challenging industry. Thus, I truly believe that with sufficient preparation, hard work, and determination, anything is possible.
Do you remember how you got your first client?
When I first started out, my very first client was an associate who I had previously worked with in a different capacity. He reached out to me after he heard about Cyberricade and we got right down to business. At the time, I was still relatively new to the field and didn’t know much about the ins and outs of protecting sensitive data online, so he basically served as my personal mentor.
What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in your professional life?
For me, changing jobs and roles has always been bittersweet. On one hand, I love the excitement and challenge that comes with moving on to something new. There’s always the thrill of learning something new and growing in my skillset, which can be incredibly rewarding. However, on the other side of things, I am incredibly attached to my colleagues and the tasks that I do on a daily basis. Saying goodbye to all of this when it’s time for a change can be tough, even if it does mean taking on something better. Nevertheless, for me it has always been about having to move forward and up, no matter what challenges may come my way. And in doing so, I know that I’ll continue to grow and thrive in my career for years to come.
What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?
Digital marketing has allowed my company to connect with clients from all over the world, which has opened up new opportunities for growth and expansion. With the help of platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, we have been able to build brand awareness on an international scale and reach audiences that were previously inaccessible. The key benefits of using digital marketing are far-reaching and include increased exposure, lower costs per click compared to traditional advertising methods, and improved customer engagement through targeted campaigns that can be easily analyzed and optimized. Indeed, I believe that digital marketing has had a profound impact not only on my business but also on businesses everywhere by helping them extend their reach beyond just local markets.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
I would advise my younger self to invest in quality relationships for professional and personal reasons. As someone who has worked in the professional world for many years, I can tell you that one of the most important aspects of any successful career is having quality relationships with other professionals. These relationships can take many different forms, from referrals and collaborations to mentorship and support, but they are all crucial to growing and thriving in your field. Not only can other people provide valuable insight and guidance that you may not have access to on your own, but they also make it possible for you to tap into their networks, resulting in new business opportunities and enhanced visibility within your industry.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
For me, success is all about working hard and showing resilience in the face of challenge. Throughout my life, I have encountered numerous obstacles that threatened to derail my progress, but through sheer determination, I managed to keep moving forward. Whether it was struggling to make ends meet when I first graduated from college or dealing with a difficult personal situation that tested my emotional strength, I never let anything get in the way of achieving my goals. At the core of my success is a strong work ethic and an unrelenting commitment to doing what it takes to achieve my dreams. Time and again, I have proven myself capable of pushing past obstacles, challenging myself to do more, and sticking with it when things got tough. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of my family and friends who have been there for me every step of the way. But at the end of the day, it’s all about persistently striving towards your goals and staying dedicated to your path no matter what challenges come your way. And in that sense, I believe that my success is truly a testament to hard work and resilience.
