Ashley Black was born with a debilitating disease called Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA).  As a child, she refused to accept her disability and spent her first 20 years defying every doctor’s prognosis. Ashley quickly surprised everyone including her doctors by becoming a competitive gymnast.

In college, Ashley Black worked in nutrition and then for a major fitness chain after graduating. Her desire to overcome her disability and her love of helping others to do the same for themselves were both cultivated here.

Ashley traveled to India to undergo a procedure to receive custom pelvic implants, embarking on a global journey of self-healing. This time Ashley was drawing from the deepest motivation – her three kids and her desire to find purpose in her pain!

After studying medical modalities all over the world, Ashley Black found a formula that worked. She quickly devoted herself to developing new solutions for herself and ultimately helping others as she had learned to heal herself. The focus of her study was on a relatively unknown subject at the time:  fascia.

Ashley opened Fasciology clinics where she trained others in her methods and worked with a roster of professional athletes and celebrities for years to follow.

How did you get started in this business? What inspired you to start this business?

I created the Ashley Black brand directly out of a personal need.  After fighting for years to overcome a serious case of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis as a child, I was met with another very near death experience in my twenties that rendered me disabled. The medical community, other than shoving me out into the world with a prognosis for a lifetime of daily pain medications and no further solutions, had failed me once again.

If the medical community would not, I was determined to help myself. After years of learning, researching and experimenting on the only research specimen available: Ashley Black (yours truly), I came up with tested solutions that worked and allowed me to live a healthy life.  I began to share that knowledge and tools I built with others because I wanted people to feel the same relief, that release from pain that I did.  I wanted to help people and maybe even change the world.

How do you make money?

Ashley Black Guru is the brand that sells FasciaBlaster™ tools and related fascia products, some of which I invented and I’m an author, speaker, researcher and educator.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

Before the FasciaBlaster™ caught fire and took the Ashley Black Guru brand and business to a whole new level, I owned a series of treatment clinics and had the opportunity to work one on one with many different professional athletes, A-list celebrities and world-famous models to help various types of problems that plagued them on a daily basis.  During that time, I developed the FasciaBlaster™ tool using my own money for seed capital, because it was important to me that I own 100 percent of my business.

Initially, I lost approximately $80K in the first six months as we worked out the secret sauce for online marketing. Once we did and our strategy was in place and ready to execute, it took off like wildfire.

We had large margins and were profitable in our first year.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

I never once dwelled on the idea of failure or that the Ashley Black brand name wouldn’t succeed. When you know without a shadow of a doubt that people need your product, it’s very hard to doubt that success is just around the corner. I never once second-guessed Ashley Black Guru or the FasciaBlaster™.  I had no doubts. Ever.

Successful people will all tell you the same thing: Doubt manifests failure. You believe you’re the best and you act as if your success is real before it is. In doing so, we manifest and create our own reality. Ashley Black Guru and the FasciaBlaster™ were destined for success because I saw that way and only that way.

How did you get your first customer?

I was very lucky to have the highest profile, first customers that a business could ever dream. Some of the first customers for Ashley Black Guru and the FasciaBlaster™ were members of the New York Yankees and very high profile celebrities that had been my personal clients.

They loved the FasciaBlaster™ and each one was a walking endorsement for Ashley Black Guru and her products. Without any help from me, they were selling the FasciaBlaster™ to ‘people I didn’t know.’ With powerful people supporting and valuing my product, we were playing in a whole new league.

I wish I knew who my first online customer was that bought from my website, I should really look that up and call them. He/She probably found Ashley Black from a Facebook ad or maybe it came from a personal recommendation.  There was a huge word of mouth – my initial customers were so passionate you cannot downplay the power of that.  My loyal customers’ recommendations are part of the endurance of the worldwide FasciaBlaster™ success.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

I often go live on Facebook with a guest who is aligned with the Ashley Black mission.  I feel like this is a great way for the Ashley Black brand to take major steps forward when needed and a great way to grow your audience.

Most importantly, it’s a free marketing tool.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

To launch globally in a different way than originally conceived.

I’ve always wanted to be the hand that pushed the FasciaBlaster™ up the mountain and over the hill to global stardom.  Clearly, speed and ease to market needed to prevail so I could focus on education and research and need to continually remind myself that I just can’t do it all. It was a tough call for me. We are currently pursuing avenues with TV marketing, distributors & academia which is a completely different business model for me.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

This is my purpose, my essence. When you’re living your universal path, you have no choice but to be successful. I listen to God and do my best to follow Him, regardless of what I may think is the right way. I try to keep a consistent flow and never push.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Every time I read a post or DM that my tools or my information have changed someone’s life.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

My purpose is to further the science behind the Ashley Black Guru brand ideals and the FasciaBlaster™ product line and make certain that all my knowledge is captured and carried on by Fasciologist™ after I have transitioned from this visible life. In order to achieve this, the Ashley Black Guru brand needs to reach the “tipping point” of mass approval. I can do this by earning 10+ million social media followers/paying customers, expanding Ashley Black and FasciaBlaster™ into the global market, and by establishing and implementing a college curriculum where I can formally train my predecessors.

I plan to support this effort by presenting the groundbreaking fascia research gathered to experts of the field and industry professionals at major medical conferences worldwide.  I hope this will compel other scientists to take these tools and methods and apply them to every possible area of the healing sciences in ongoing research. By spreading the word and relaying the extensive fascia research completed, I want to make certain that Fasciology™ is recognized as more than a theory, but as a proven science that cannot be suppressed moving forward.

I also plan to develop a series of game-changing documentaries for the general public to reveal the truth about fascia.


First, take what the Ashley Black brand did with the FasciaBlaster™ in the US and EXPAND its reach across the world – getting the FasciaBlaster™  into as many peoples’ hands as possible.

Then, Ashley Black Guru as a brand and as a team need to EDUCATE as much as we can whoever we can whenever we can. Eventually, I want to formalize my teachings and create a higher learning certification in Fasciology™ for colleges and universities across the world to offer in their curriculums. This will make certain that the knowledge I have gathered and researched for everything that touches fascia is continually shared. Then the Ashley Black Guru legacy can thrive, rooted in truth and backed by science. With all of this in place, Fascia and Fascialogy™ can live on through the practitioners that teach my work long after I have ceased to teach it myself.

What is a recent purchase you have made that’s helped with your business?

I know this sounds silly and perhaps even unnecessary to some, but a tripod. I shoot a lot of videos and live feed for social media and new sources. Without a cameraman at your side, a good tripod is necessary.
