In the year 2004, Anupam Rekha started her freelancing career. She learned the basics of website designing and programming while working with her clients from various parts of the world. After working for 2 years, Satyam Technologies Pvt Ltd was incorporated. Their team consisted of 2 programmers including Anupam, 1 designer and 1 junior designer.

How did you get started in this business? What inspired you to start this business?

I liked the idea of creating something so entered into Web Design and Software Development field. Also, one attraction was the ability to be able to work from home. As my freelancing career was growing I decided to incorporate Satyam Technologies Pvt Ltd.

How do you make money?

I make money by software development, selling scripts and blogging.

How long did it take for you to become profitable?

As I moved gradually into business while offering services of software development my company was always profitable.

When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?

I was in doubt when I started freelancing as it used to be long hours. And one or two clients were not willing to pay for the projects worked upon. An interesting thing is the projects to which I put more than 100% were they once that were not paid. I simply kept on working and those days were gone.

How did you get your first customer?

My first ever customer was one of my close friends. They knew I could do the Job.

What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?

Definitely, it is Google Adwords.

What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?

We recently made a twitter Application that has a free and pro version. It can be found at We were not sure if we should sell it outright as a product or sell it as a Service.

What do you think it is that makes you successful?

Hard Work and Team Work is what makes us successful.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

I think I am never satisfied. The Most satisfying moment is yet to come.

What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?

I have great expectations from our Hosting Business and Twitter Application we recently worked upon.

The best book I have ever read is “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.

What is a recent purchase you have made that’s helped with your business?

We purchased Shareasale Affiliate Program Merchant Membership for and it was okay for generating leads.
