Akintayo Emmanuel is the Overseer of God’s Remnant Assembly in Bowie, Maryland As a young man, Akintayo Emmanuel wanted to be a space scientist. He enjoys scientific critical and analytical thinking, and he desires to find solutions to all kinds of human challenges through viable research. However, he was redirected by the Holy Spirit through “the volume of the book,” called The Bible, to His original purpose in life, which is Jesus Christ and His everlasting Kingdom. His goal in this life is to be like Jesus Christ, and He is pressing by the help of the Holy Spirit towards this mark of the high calling. He has also been mandated by the Lord to raise unto God a people just like Jesus Christ by the power of God’s word. He believes that it is one thing to be a denominational darling, but it is quite another thing to be a representative and a true ambassador of Jesus Christ here on earth. According to Akintayo, we cannot just be in the Church building, we have got to be in Christ Jesus. He believes, Christ in us the hope of glory, ought to make the difference in our lives, family, marriage, community, nation, and the world at large. We are ambassadors of blessed Kingdom of heaven. Our Christian walk must get us to a place where everyone sees us, and they mistake our identity for Jesus Christ. Our body which is the temple of the Holy Ghost must reflect the glory of the Holy Spirit that lives and moves in us.  God’s Holiness, Power, beauty, and glory must be seen in our lives. Christ in us must become Christ on us which must ultimately become Christ as us, after all, as He is, so are we in this world.

Akintayo has a prime mission which is to show that Jesus came here to set an example of how people should grow, live and love one another. Everyone can find fulfillment in life by walking on the same path that Jesus walked. If people are looking for peace and solace, they have to look unto Jesus, not to the outside world.

In his own family, Akintayo Emmanuel and his wife, Sarah, created an environment that is endlessly supportive of their family. A Church within a home. A Bible lifestyle environment within the home and family. The love of God, the fear of God, the mercy of God, the righteousness of God, the grace of God, and the power of God, is their watchword and stronghold. Akintayo used his passion for God and commitment to His word to enhance everyone’s quality of life, and he is very keen on being minute by minute led by the Holy Spirit.

He endeavors to live a life of integrity and faithfulness to His course. He is consumed by the golden rule and love unconditionally.

What inspired you to become a servant of God?

What inspired me to begin to serve the Lord is primarily God’s definite and decisive call, and mandate for my destiny, and others that are attached to this same destiny. The Bible declares in 2 Tim. 2: 2 that, the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. We have a responsibility to commit to the next generation the in-Christ reality and with men and women of life passion, visionary men and women that will take this world for Jesus Christ by storm, men of high caliber that will transform our society, community, and the world by the Word of God. Jesus had only 12 people, and He made them His disciples, and they followed Him, were trained and nurtured and they in-turn, turned this whole world upside down. They became light to the lost world, and today we have more than two billion Christians in the world.

When you were starting, was there ever a time you doubted it was the right choice for you? If so, how did you handle that?

I had a different personality at the time. My family thought I was kind of strange for reducing my commitment to biotechnology, genetic research, space science, and set to what is called, the servant of the Highest God.  They all felt disappointed at my choice because they febig money lt I was going to the extreme.  Deep down in my heart, I knew God had a different plan for me. I am eternally grateful for the ups and downs and for the lessons that I have learned while growing up as a Christian. Looking back, I have never regretted following Jesus to do. It would have been a catastrophe if I had not obeyed the Lord that has marked out this plan for my destiny.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I am all in when it comes to walking the path of Jesus. I love to meditate on the word of Jesus. I follow the path of all of the great examples in the Bible. If I do the same thing as Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, and Paul, and I do it well, I will get the same results even better as explained by Jesus Christ. I made up my mind to have a peaceful and fulfilled life. So, I follow that path. This has been my momentum, passion, and spiritual drive. I want God to echo to me every day; “This is my well-beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”  I strive to write journals daily and still enjoy research with my free time. As a tireless professional developer, I lecture and conduct seminars and workshops.

What has been the most satisfying moment in your spiritual career?

The most satisfying time of my life was when God opened my spiritual ears and gave me revelatory seeing eyes and see the Lord. That is the greatest thing the Lord has done for me, and it is gloriously satisfying.  I have been enjoying the blessing of the same since the time I encountered Him until now. I have had a daily and more in-depth closer relationship with God. During one of my intensive Kingdom fasting and prayer, I saw a vision of two planes going into two high rise building about five days before 9/11. Because the interpretation was not clear at that time, I could not make of anything. Surprisingly, while lecturing the morning of September 11, the exact vision that I saw days before happened life, I couldn’t stop crying. I was very humbled because God revealed those events to me, but I had wished I could have prayed more to inquire about the meaning of the vision. We believe the Lord for a world, wherein there would be eternal peace, harmony, and tranquility, and only Jesus can establish such when He returns. Right now, we are all urged to pray for the nations of the world and for our leaders, especially, those who are both in spiritual authority and governmental authority, so that we God’s people can continue to lead a peaceable and quiet life in all godliness and honesty.  We do want war and bloodshed again in the nations, and I know that we can change it at least to some certain extent by the power of the light (God’s Word) and the Holy Spirit. We must continue to pray for people to be free from oppression, famine, political turmoil, and struggles of life. We also must continue to pray for justice and peace to reign in our land.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not lecturing or researching?

What I enjoy when I am not lecturing or engaged in research is reading or may I say eating my Bible. The Word of God is my best friend. Time passes so quickly when I am reading the Bible. When I was in school, learning biology, biochemistry, nuclear physics and all such makes me thirst more for God’s Word.  After about 3 to 4 hours of studying, I have to eat the real food, which is the Word of God and that literarily means, I ‘ve got to read and study my Bible, then I feel refreshed, renewed, re-empowered and re-energized. I find the Bible to be my closest companion; it is not just a book, the Bible is God personified. The one who gives power to the faint and strength to the weary. I read and re-read. It gives me a heavenly connection to God. It is like God’s infusion or divine infusion that brings great illumination and takes you out from the natural into the supernatural power and the presence of God. What a sweet experience of the presence and power of the Almighty God. For the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. Paul says in Philippians 3: 10, “That I may know Him, the power of His resurrection and fellowship of His suffering being made conformable unto His death.

What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self or young people today?

The young people of today are in trouble, yet they have an excellent opportunity to rise and shine out of the midst of darkness. No matter how much darkness or gross darkness and evil that you see in the world today, God is in the middle of it, and He is doing much more than what our eyes and mind can imagine provided the younger generation can see it and tap into it. Out of every temptation, affliction or darkness, God is faithful, who will always make a way of escape. Wherever sin abounds, grace did much more abound. Growing up, our generation was faced with many challenges. We have to learn to master the challenges and overcome it. The younger people of today are faced with more challenges than in any generation, and many of them need to be reprogramed into that righteous, reasonable and acceptable lifestyle using God’s Word.

The older generation needs to be involved in reaching out to their community so they create a positive impact or be good mentors. We need to get the younger ones involved in prayer, the Word, practical Christianity, life-enriching programs, sports, music, and other skillful endeavors to influence our youth in the right direction. Some of them are battling with several issues of life, starting from the home, family and their community. We are to train and not just to teach a child in the way that he should go. This is very important so that when he grows, he will not depart from that way and Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” We need to incorporate the Bible back into our culture, home, and family and we must have a Holy Spirit revealed understanding of it. We have to impress these values on the next generation and have a desire to build the future.  It is imperative to empower and equip the younger ones with this awesome responsibility.

If someone were considering following a similar path, how would you suggest they get started?

It is all about change. It is the change that you go through within your heart. We have to be transformed by the renewing of our mind through God’s Word, then we can also turn the world around us. It is the positive change you make, or the positive impact in the lives of others that clearly defines your worth, purpose or value in life. It is making life better for others.  It is following the path of righteousness and obedience to God and His word, which is the path of peace. Anyone who wants to follow this path always has to seek for the knowledge of God’s word and relevant knowledge and skills in our respective fields of life.  Strive to be the best of the best no matter what you choose to do in life and never stop learning.  You should endeavor to climb higher with persistence, discipline, determination, diligence, integrity and be faithful. It does not matter where you are right now; God can take you to a higher place in life that is beyond your wildest dream. Lead by the golden rule and love unconditionally.
