Faith & Business: How Biblical Principles Can Lead to Entrepreneurial Success

What drives your passion for entrepreneurship and global business?

I have always believed that business is not just about making money—it’s about solving real problems, creating opportunities, and leaving a lasting impact. I was drawn to entrepreneurship because I saw how business, when done ethically, can transform lives. Whether in real estate, agriculture, or international trade, my passion has always been about bridging gaps and building connections.

When I started in real estate development in Rwanda, my goal was to create modern, high-quality housing and infrastructure. Later, in agribusiness, I realized the global market needed high-quality produce, and Kenyan farmers needed better access to international buyers. That’s what led me to found Avoveg Health Kenya Ltd.

Now, with Loyd Global Consulting, I want to help entrepreneurs and businesses worldwide by offering strategic consulting, global market insights, and business expansion strategies. My passion is fueled by the impact I can create in every industry I work in.

What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned from failure?

Failure is not the opposite of success—it’s a part of it. Every major breakthrough in my career came from a setback. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that failure is feedback. It shows you where adjustments are needed, and it forces you to grow.

When my real estate firm, DN International, faced financial challenges, I had two choices: dwell on what went wrong or pivot toward something new. I chose to pivot, and that decision led me to the agribusiness industry, where I found even greater success.

The key lesson is to stay adaptable, embrace change, and never let failure define you. Instead of asking, “Why did this happen to me?” ask, “What can I learn from this, and how can I improve?”

How does faith play a role in your business decisions?

Faith is my foundation. Business can be unpredictable, and no matter how much we plan, there are always uncertainties, market shifts, and unexpected challenges. My faith in God gives me clarity and peace, especially when making difficult decisions.

I believe in Biblical principles in business—honesty, integrity, stewardship, and service. These values are not just ethical guidelines; they are strategic advantages. A business built on trust and transparency will always have stronger relationships with partners, clients, and employees.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 3:5-6, which reminds me to trust in God’s plan rather than rely solely on my own understanding. This mindset keeps me grounded, ensuring that I make decisions not based on fear, but on wisdom and purpose.

What inspired you to start Loyd Global Consulting, and what makes it unique?

After three decades of hands-on experience in international markets, trade, and business expansion, I realized that many entrepreneurs and companies struggle with global scalability. They have great ideas but lack the strategic roadmap to expand beyond their local markets.

Loyd Global Consulting was created to bridge that gap. Our approach is not just theoretical—it’s based on real-world experience. I have personally navigated market entry challenges, cross-border trade barriers, and industry shifts. This allows me to offer practical, actionable insights.

What makes us unique is our holistic approach. We don’t just provide business strategies; we incorporate risk management, leadership development, market positioning, and faith-based success principles. Whether it’s a startup looking to expand or a corporation needing a global trade strategy, we offer tailored solutions that align with their vision.

How do you handle stress and uncertainty in business?

Stress and uncertainty are part of the entrepreneurial journey, but your response determines your outcome. For me, handling stress comes down to three things: faith, strategy, and self-discipline.

First, I lean on prayer and scripture. It helps me regain perspective and reminds me that every challenge has a solution.

Second, I rely on strategic thinking. Instead of reacting emotionally to problems, I break them down, analyze the root cause, and create a step-by-step action plan.

Finally, self-discipline is key. I maintain structure in my daily routine, prioritize my time, and avoid making rushed decisions under pressure.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career?

A mentor once told me: “Never chase money. Chase value, and money will follow.” This completely changed my approach to business. When you focus on creating value—whether through better services, stronger leadership, or innovative solutions—the financial rewards will come naturally.

What is one trend that excites you about the future of business?

The rise of digital trade and global connectivity excites me. Businesses today have unlimited potential to scale beyond borders. Entrepreneurs in Africa, Asia, or Latin America can now reach customers worldwide through e-commerce, digital marketing, and international logistics solutions.

This presents massive opportunities for African businesses, especially in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology. Companies that embrace global networking, automation, and cross-border collaboration will thrive in the next decade.

What is one thing every entrepreneur should focus on to succeed?

Building strong relationships. Business is not just about products and services—it’s about people. Whether it’s with clients, employees, investors, or partners, success is built on trust, communication, and collaboration.

Final Thoughts: What legacy do you hope to leave?

I want to be remembered as someone who empowered others to succeed. Success is not just about personal achievements—it’s about lifting others, creating opportunities, and leaving an impact that lasts beyond your lifetime.

I hope my journey inspires the next generation of entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators. Whether through business, mentorship, or faith, my goal is to help others realize their potential, overcome obstacles, and build lives of purpose and success.
