Gregg Marcus is a well respected property and casualty insurance broker including work with commercial property and casualty insurance. Mr. Marcus is located in New York, New York where he helps clients to assess and purchase property insurance to provide coverage for their commercial and business properties. Additionally, he works to meet the needs of his customers for casualty insurance that will provide liability coverage to help protect them in the case that they are found legally responsible for an accident that causes injuries to another person or damage to another person’s belongings. Mr. Marcus also works in the commercial lending arena, assisting clients and business owners with a wide range of financing options.
Gregg Marcus has more than thirty years of experience working in the commercial hard money loan industry. The knowledge he has gained while working at MSM Enterprises of New York Inc. since 1996 has provided him with a solid foundation on which to build business partnerships, to develop and advance clients’ companies, and to mentor up-and-coming entrepreneurs. Through his work with First Interactive LLC, Mr. Marcus has been involved in the mortgage consulting business for over fifteen years. He has provided consultancy on all aspects of mortgages and helped clients from a wide variety of backgrounds to acquire the financing needed for many projects.
Gregg Marcus is also a well-known philanthropist. He has worked with Sunrise Day Camp in Long Island, New York, a charity for children with cancer. Sunrise Day Camp has been operating since 2006, where volunteers help to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings. Mr. Marcus has also supported Americans for Class, or Meadow’s Movement, a nonprofit organization that works to improve children’s safety in schools. Between 2007 and 2008, he was one of the donors that led the acquisition of the property and house in Brookville, NY that would become The Chabad of Brookville. In 2002, Gregg Marcus received the Humanitarian Award at the Twelfth Interfaith Concert of Remembrance.
Can you tell us a little bit about your work as an insurance broker?
As an insurance broker, I work with clients to assess their needs for property and casualty coverage, and then help them to find the right policy to meet those needs. I work with a variety of clients, with a focus on commercial interests for property and casualty insurance as well as commercial lending. I’m based in New York but work on a national level.
What made you want to become an insurance broker?
I have always been interested in insurance and the role it plays in protecting people and businesses. When I was younger, I worked for an insurance company, and I saw firsthand how the industry worked. I was also able to see how important it is for people and businesses to have proper coverage in place. After that, I decided that I wanted to help business owners by becoming an insurance broker.
What are some of the biggest challenges you face as an insurance broker?
One of the biggest challenges we face is making sure that our clients have adequate coverage in place. There are always new risks emerging, and it can be difficult to keep up with all of the changes. Another challenge is making sure that our clients are getting the best possible value for their insurance premiums. We work hard to find the right balance between coverage and cost.
What are some of the most common misconceptions about insurance?
One of the most common misconceptions is that insurance is only for big businesses or for people with a lot of assets. That simply isn’t true. Everyone needs some form of insurance, whether it’s for your home, your car, or your health. Insurance protects you from financial loss in the event of an accident or unexpected event. My focus is commercial work–property and casualty insurance for businesses–but just as a note for anyone out there, I think that people underestimate the importance of having insurance.
What advice would you give to a business owner who is thinking about purchasing insurance?
My best advice would be to shop around and compare rates from different insurers. It’s also important to make sure that you understand the coverage you’re getting and that it meets your needs. You should also review your policy periodically to make sure that it still meets your needs as your circumstances change.
What do you do on a daily basis as an entrepreneur that sets you apart?
I work hard to provide the best possible service to my clients. I also stay up to date on the latest changes in the insurance industry so that I can provide my clients with the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. Additionally, I am always looking for new ways to improve my business and provide value to my clients.
What are your thoughts on the current state of the insurance industry?
The insurance industry is constantly changing, and it can be difficult to keep up with all of the new developments. However, I believe that the industry is heading in a positive direction, and that there will be more opportunities for brokers like myself to help people protect their businesses and property in the future.
What are some of the challenges you see insurance companies facing in the future?
I believe that one of the biggest challenges insurance companies will face in the future is staying ahead of new risks. As our world becomes more connected, there are more opportunities for new risks to emerge. It will be important for insurers to stay ahead of these risks and provide coverage that meets the needs of their clients. Additionally, I believe that another challenge insurers will face is finding ways to provide value to their customers. In a competitive market, it will be important for insurers to find ways to stand out from the crowd and offer something that their competitors don’t.
How do you deal with rejection?
I don’t take rejection personally. I understand that not everyone will be interested in the products or services I have to offer. I also know that there are other insurance brokers out there who can provide what my clients are looking for. I focus on providing the best possible service to those who do choose to work with me and continue to look for new clients who may benefit from my services.

These are some of my favorite words of wisdom. Abraham Lincoln was obviously one of the greatest leaders of this country and one of the greatest leaders of all time, and I take it to heart that the best way to affect the future is to create it. For that reason, I always seek to be a positive change for individuals. Certainly Lincoln stood for the idea of individual freedoms and one of the best ways to enable people to empower themselves is to give them the financial freedom they need to determine their own futures rather than allow others to determine it for them.

I am always looking for new ways to improve my business and provide value to my clients. I believe that the insurance industry will continue to change and evolve, and I will be there to help my clients navigate these changes.
