Alexander Spellane is a young, budding entrepreneur who is taking over the precious metal industry. At the ripe age of 27, Alexander made his first million. Since then, Alexander plans on taking his business, Fisher Capital, to new heights and hopes of becoming the nation’s number one precious metal retailer.
Despite not going to college, Alexander holds nearly a decade of experience in financial sales, starting his career in Beverly Hills and now expanding into New York. This is partly credited to his experience with exclusive bullion coins, highly sought after in limited mintage and less available on the open market precious metals.
How did you get started in this business?
My father collected coins, so I had knowledge of precious metals from an early age. After being offered an opportunity to work as a broker in a boutique firm in Beverly Hills, I combined my knowledge with precious metals and things really took off.
How do you make money?
I am the CEO of a precious metal retailer, which generates revenue by buying precious metals at wholesale cost and selling them at retail.
How long did it take for you to become profitable?
My company was formed by myself and other industry veterans. Our combined experience and passion for precious metals gave us our cutting edge. Having existing clients and local support led to us making money immediately.
When you were starting out, was there ever a time you doubted it would work? If so, how did you handle that?
No, I was 100% certain this company would succeed. This certainty was based on almost a decade of experience and research in the industry and knowing we were operating at a great time.
How did you get your first customer?
It was a referral from a friend. Once I helped them, customers quickly began flowing in.
What is one marketing strategy (other than referrals) that you’re using that works really well to generate new business?
Online marketing works really well for us. We also advertise on conservative tv and radio stations which also brings us tons of traffic.
What is the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last few months?
To appoint and let other people have a bigger hand in executive management of the company. It’s tough to let go and trust others with the responsibility that I’ve had over the years.
What do you think it is that makes you successful?
My level of passion and enthusiasm. I genuinely believe the work we do helps people.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
Watching my entire team flourish and be happy. There’s nothing more satisfying than helping others succeed while falling in love with the process.
What does the future hold for your business? What are you most excited about?
I see us becoming the #1 precious metal retailer company by volume while continuing to expand our reach. We’re already close!
What business books have inspired you?
The Bible is my guiding light. I have been able to find the answer to any question in the Bible.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Not to ask anyone to do something I myself wouldn’t do.
Are you willing to be a mentor? If so, how should someone contact you?
Absolutely. You can contact me directly by visiting FisherCapitalGroup.com
